Job Details

As an IT Asset Associate specializing in imaging machines, your primary responsibility is to ensure the efficient and accurate setup, configuration, and imaging of computer systems within the organization. You will play a crucial role in maintaining the integrity and functionality of IT assets by deploying software images and configurations across various hardware platforms.


Key Responsibilities:

Imaging and Configuration:

  • Utilize imaging software (e.g., Microsoft Deployment Toolkit, Symantec Ghost) to create and deploy standardized operating system images.
  • Configure software applications, drivers, and settings according to organizational requirements.
  • Ensure proper encryption, security patches, and updates are applied during the imaging process.


Hardware Setup and Testing:

  • Physically set up and prepare computer hardware for imaging, including desktops, laptops, and other peripherals.
  • Conduct hardware testing to identify and resolve any issues prior to imaging.
  • Collaborate with the hardware team to address hardware-related problems or defects.


Quality Assurance:

  • Perform quality checks on imaged machines to verify software installations, configurations, and functionality.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve any discrepancies or errors in the imaging process.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation of imaging activities.


Inventory Management:

  • Track and maintain inventory of all IT assets undergoing imaging, ensuring accurate records of hardware specifications, serial numbers, and software licenses.
  • Coordinate with procurement and asset management teams to replenish imaging supplies and equipment as needed.


User Support and Training:

  • Provide technical assistance and support to end-users during the deployment and setup of imaged machines.
  • Conduct training sessions or create documentation to educate users on basic troubleshooting procedures and best practices for maintaining imaged systems.


Process Improvement:

  • Continuously evaluate and streamline imaging processes to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Identify opportunities for automation or tool enhancement to optimize the imaging workflow.


Compliance and Security:

  • Ensure compliance with company policies, industry regulations, and security standards throughout the imaging process.
  • Implement security measures to safeguard sensitive data and prevent unauthorized access to imaged systems.


Qualifications:

  • A+ Certification
  • Proven experience in IT support, with a focus on imaging and deploying computer systems.
  • Proficiency with imaging software and deployment tools (e.g., Microsoft Deployment Toolkit, SCCM, WDS).
  • Strong understanding of operating systems (e.g., Windows, macOS) and hardware components.
  • Excellent troubleshooting skills and attention to detail.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
