  • Proper weatherproofing of exterior devices.

  • Can use a multimeter for measuring voltage, resistance, and current.
  • Demonstrates proper labeling per SOP.
  • Understand technology systems layout and operation on a basic level.
  • Responsible for submitting all crew subsistence slips and cash.
  • Ability to prove certification knowledge through practical application.
  • Tasks are completed with high quality workmanship and to industry standards.
  • Understands all job phase codes and actively seeks feedback on actual performance compared to estimated/projected hours.
  • Seeks additional avenues for self-development (webinars, magazines, videos).
  • Assists in the commissioning of systems.
  • Properly terminates head end equipment.
  • Understand system keypad operation, device operation, and diagnostics.
  • Understands overall system operation, sequence of operation.
  • Applies code knowledge for proper placement (height, spacing) for fire alarm devices.
  • Able to troubleshoot video issues, IP addressing issues, and power issues.
  • Program network information into system devices.
  • Able to fish cabling in all door types.
  • Proficient in cut-in of electric strikes.
  • Maintains housekeeping on jobsite, and shop/storage areas.
  • Understands the difference and application of AC vs DC voltage.
  • Install maglocks and associated code required devices (push buttons).
  • Able to troubleshoot cabling issues.
  • Can properly set up data/fiber tester, log results, and upload information.
  • Able to utilize fusion splicer for install and repair.

SAFETY:

  • Always adheres to all safety policies and practices. Wears steel-toed shoes, hardhat, gloves, and safety glasses on all job sites.
  • Completes toolbox talks and Job Hazard Analysis (JHA) forms as directed.
  • Understand and complete site-specific safety requirements and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) if applicable.
  • Completed OSHA 10, NFPA70E, CPR, and First Aid Training.
  • Ability to identify unsafe situations and will intervene, report to the next level, and call a stop work if necessary.


EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • NICET 1 Fire Alarm Systems
  • BICSI Copper Certification
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
  • Minimum of three years' experience with electronics and/or low voltage systems.
  • Willingness to travel up to 50%.
  • Must be certified in CPR and First Aid or ability to obtain certification shortly after the start date.
  • NFPA70E training.
  • Complete OSHA 10.
  • This position may require employees to drive a company vehicle.If so, employees must possess a valid driver's license and have a good driving record that allows the company to ensure such individuals are under the company's insurance policies.Employees must also carry auto liability insurance.Employees will be subject to the Company's policy concerning company vehicles.
  • Understands the functionality of Computer systems and network devices.
  • Understands the mechanical functionality of the equipment.
  • Demonstrate the ability to understand and apply NFPA70E to the equipment being worked on and the work environment.
  • Understands the NEC and NFPA code and apply these standards to the work being performed.
