This position is responsible and accountable for compounding incoming prescriptions in the lab and reports to the Lead Pharmacy Technician. This position is full-time, however, part-time availability will be considered.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Lead filling all prescription medications according to company and governing regulatory policies and procedures, which may change from time-to-time
  • Demonstrates proficiency with following directions
  • Demonstrates ability to perform non-sterile compounding per strict USP 795/ 800 standards
  • Proactively anticipate, identify and propose solutions to the on-duty pharmacist / pharmacy manager any problems with any medication fills and have all work checked by pharmacist; Technician shall not make any decisions regarding medications that may affect patient care

  • Cross-train and cover all pharmacy technician areas assigned
  • Complete all documentation and computer input as necessary
  • Assist in inventory control functions
  • Assist in maintenance of the pharmacy to reflect a clean and well stocked condition on a daily basis
  • Help improve processes to meet customer needs; respect confidentiality of information with only those that need to know
  • Maintain HIPAA compliance at all times
  • Contribute to the productivity of the team; resolve conflict in a positive manner
  • Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
  • At least 2 years pharmacy experience (compounding experience preferred)
  • Licensed Pharmacy Technician in good standing with the Board of Pharmacy
  • Minimum of High School Diploma/G.E.D.
  • Experience with Pharmacy software
  • Minimum ability to type 75 wpm
  • Pass drug screen test, background check, pre-employment verification process
  • Read, understand and be compliant with HIPAA
  • Valid Driver's License and in good standing
  • Able to communicate effectively, both verbal and written, in the English language
  • Good attention to detail
  • Ability to problem solve effectively
  • Ability to follow policies and procedures, basic math skills
  • Motivated self-starter with great attitude, flexibility, and entrepreneurial spirit
  • Able to work under pressure to prioritize and manage workload, manage simultaneous tasks and meet deadlines within a fast paced and changing environment
  • Working Conditions: standing, walking, sitting, reaching above shoulders, reaching waist level, reaching below knee, climbing, lifting above shoulder up to 20 lbs and lifting waist level up to 20 lbs.

Valor's pay band range for this position is $25 to $36 per hour. This salary range may include multiple levels. Your level is based on our assessment of your interview performance and experience, which you can always ask the hiring manager about to understand in more detail. Salary is just one component of Valor's total compensation package for employees.
