We are currently looking for a Generator Technician to join our team. This position has the technical understanding of generators to perform minor/major repairs and installations of generators and associated equipment.
Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot operational failures of generators
- Repair and adjust transfer switches and perform major repairs on units
- Install and test new generator units
- Work with other technicians on large projects
- Guide and train lower-level technicians
- Respond quickly to job site (24/7)
- Follow safety requirements, including proper use of protective equipment
- Safely drive a service vehicle
- Clearly, concisely document all work and repairs completed
Education and experience
- High school diploma or GED certificate required.
- Training from an accredited technical school specializing in diesel or gas engines strongly preferred OR
- Military experience with a duty assignment related to vehicle or power generation equipment service preferred
- OEM Certification for Industrial Generators and Automatic Transfer Switches
- or equivalent work experience
