Primary Responsibilities
In the role of Facility Construction Inspector 2, we'll count on you to:
Demonstrate familiarity with a broad spectrum of construction materials, methods, and processes for buildings and facilitie
Conduct inspection of electrical, mechanical/HVAC, and site civil
Collaborate with other field representatives or Project Manager
Read and interpret construction drawings and specifications, and identify discrepancies or conflicts within document
Conduct and document observations of construction as it progresse
Provide guidance to less-experienced field staff as needed
Conduct or Coordinate field materials sampling and testing, including concrete slump and air testing, casting concrete test cylinders, and performing in-place soil compaction testing
Compose reports with a daily log of activities, personnel, and pictures to send to clients daily
Work may require 50% to 100% travel to meetings, site visits, and inspections outside of the Kansas City area
Possibility for Long-term project assignment
Work outdoors and navigate construction sites in all season
Perform other duties as needed
Qualifications
Required Qualifications
High School diploma or equivalent
A minimum of 3 years experience
Proficient with MS Office (Word/Excel/Outlook)
Proven problem-solving and documentation abilitie
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Strong written communication skill
Eager to Learn and Ask Questions and Perform new duties as needed under supervision
Exhibit professionalism with client
Licensed to operate motor vehicles in accordance with applicable state law
Ability to work outdoors and navigate construction sites in all season
This position typically requires successfully passing drug-screening procedures prior to being hired thereafter subject to random and cause drug and alcohol testing
An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must
Preferred Qualifications
Technical school or college degree
Relevant Industry Certification
Ability to interpret construction schedule
General accounting knowledge.
Familiarity with collaboration products such OneDrive, MS Teams, and OneNote.
PDF editing software such as Revu Bluebeam.
Exercise good judgment and discretion, and independently resolve problems and issues.
Utilize survey equipment to check and confirm construction.
