Job Title: Canner/Packaging Operator
Location: 43rd/Indian School
Pay Rate: $17.00 per hour
Schedule: Monday - Friday, 7:00 AM - 4:30 PM
Summary: We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Production and Packaging Operator to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for filling containers with various product elements to complete customer orders, sealing containers, labeling, and packaging containers.
Environment:
- Work in a fast-paced plant setting
- Emphasis on teamwork
- Exposure to hazardous materials
- Temperature variations between 60 - 80 degrees Fahrenheit
Requirements:- Ability to stand, bend, and lift 50-70 lbs on a regular basis; occasionally move up to 100 lbs
- Must be medically able to wear a respirator daily
- Mandatory use of steel-toe shoes, protective gloves, and long sleeve shirts daily
- Proficient motor coordination skills and capability for repetitive motion
Essential Functions:- Fill various containers with product elements according to instructions and weight requirements specified on the batch ticket
- Seal containers securely
- Count and report packaged items on the batch ticket
- Deliver packaged items to the warehouse/shipping department
- Clean empty drums, tanks, and other items as required
- Provide accurate information for the production schedule
- Print and apply labels accurately
- Coordinate schedules with the Labeling Station, Mixing Department, and Shipping Department
- Label and fill secondary packaging when necessary (e.g., boxes)
- Maintain HMIS and OSHA safety practices at all times
Qualifications:- High school diploma or equivalent
- Prior experience in a manufacturing or packaging environment is preferred
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment
- Commitment to safety and adherence to all safety protocols
