Under limited supervision, this role provides installation, troubleshooting, repair, and phone technical support services out of a home office based on the East Coast. The role is also responsible for technical field service for customers throughout the United States.

**Responsibilities:**

* Perform hands-on installation, troubleshooting and repair of electrical equipment. Coordinates with Customer Care team to handle customer paperwork, order processing, RMAs, etc.

* Delivers high quality daily remote technical support for Hardy customers over the phone as part of the Hardy Tech Support team.

* Perform upgrades on instrumentation according to any required Engineering Change Notices (ECNs).

* Expedites invoices from completed repairs and services for revenue recognition purposes. Tracks job costs accurately and logs cost in ERP.

* Works with management and peers to drive process improvement and technological advancement within the Repair and Technical Support group.

* Supports Hardy sales personnel and channel partners with application expertise in an effort to help develop business opportunities.

* Perform training on weighing applications and technology to Hardy sales personnel, channel partners and customers.

**QUALIFICATIONS:**

* Associates degree (A.A.) in electronics from a college or technical school, or equivalent experience.

* Two or more years of technical or field service experience or equivalent, including installation, troubleshooting and repairing of electronic industrial weighing instrumentation.

* Proven proficiency in providing technical customer support. Good communication skills a must.

* Some experience with HMIs, Allen Bradley PLC and Industrial Networking technologies is a plus.

* Experience with RS Logix a plus. RS Logix programming is a big plus.

* Excellent mechanical aptitude.

* Proven ability to interact effectively with customers, both internal and external.

* Some experience in selling products or services is a plus.

* Ability to work from schematics, formal written test procedures and verbal instructions.

* Computer proficiency, including Microsoft Excel and Word (preparation of spreadsheets and correspondence), as well as database software applications and CRM applications (Microsoft Dynamics preferred) a must.

* Proven organizational skills and attention to detail.

**Minimum Qualifications:**

* Ability to work in industrial environments and to use a variety of personal protective equipment.

* Ability to use testing equipment, large and small tools.

* Must have experience with soldering, multi-meter use, and general electrical safety.

* Ability to lift test weights up to 50lbs.

* Ability to travel away from the home base, by air or land, for overnight periods as long as five days and as often as required by business needs up to 50% of the time.
