Position/Job Summary:

The mission of the Environmental, Health and Safety Manager is to provide guidance in developing comprehensive safety services and procedures by limiting the occurrence of risk or injury. The purpose of this role is to promote safety in the workplace, and to create safety awareness throughout the organization. This position requires excellent documentation skills and significant knowledge of all safety codes and guidelines. This position is considered essential personnel by the company and therefore is required to work on site.

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Be the Frontage regulatory expert (Safety Officer) for EHS, OSHA, EPA, local codes, and regulations, etc.Solicit and develop new business opportunities through direct selling, referrals, trade shows, conferences, meetings etc.
  • Conduct periodic safety audits Develop new business plans for existing customers as well as potential new customers.
  • Host EHS related inspections.
  • Accountable for EHS reporting activities in compliance with applicable regulatory bodies, Frontage s SOPs and policies.
  • Chairing the Frontage Safety Committee including monthly meetings and safety reviews
  • Lead incident investigations, assigning root cause and implementing corrective actions.
  • Develop and implement training programs related to employee safety procedures and accident prevention Develop a comprehensive understanding of all services offered for potential cross-selling opportunities.
  • Responsible for the safety follow up action plans on workers compensation claims to objectively prevent or reduce similar claims.
    • Must reflect a respectful, helpful and cooperative attitude to the Frontage team and all staff members. Must be approachable.
    • Enforcing safety regulations as needed.
    • Maintaining training records.
    • Oversee Hazardous and Bio Waste.
Education, Experience & Skills Required:
  • Bachelor s degree in industrial hygiene or equivalent in certification(s) or experience. 2-4 years of related experience in the biotech, pharma or preclinical CRO industry preferred.
  • 2-4 years of related experience in the biotech, pharma or preclinical CRO industry is preferred.
  • Familiar with drug development biology to include toxicology, metabolism, and pharmacokinetics.
  • Ability to assess leads, value of new business, craft recommendations through effective written and oral presentations, work with scientific and the marketing teams, and close deals.
  • Excellent organization and planning skills.
  • Any of the following certifications are a plus:
    • Certified Safety Professional (CSP)
    • Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH)
    • Certified Safety and Health Manager
    • OSHA 30-Hour OSHA
    • Qualified Environmental Professional (QEP)
    • Registered Environmental Manager (REM)
    • Certified Hazardous Materials Manager (CHMM)
