Summary

As a Staffing Liaison, you'll play a crucial role in providing rapid operational support to Medical Special Needs Shelters throughout Louisiana, working in collaboration with the Louisiana Department of Health. Your primary responsibilities will include coordinating staffing needs and managing employee relations to ensure efficient operation of the shelters.

Job Duties:

  • Coordinate with clinical leadership to maintain the master schedule for medical staff across various departments and shifts.
  • Collaborate with program managers and clinical leadership to assess staffing needs and requirements for each area of the shelter.
  • Utilize scheduling software or other tools to create and manage employee schedules, considering factors such as staff availability, skill levels, and patient census.
  • Communicate schedule changes, updates, and assignments to staff members promptly and effectively, ensuring clear and accurate information dissemination.
  • Proactively address scheduling conflicts, coverage gaps, and staffing shortages, implementing solutions to resolve issues promptly.
  • Maintain documentation and records related to scheduling activities, including shift rosters and attendance records.
  • Serve as a liaison to employees under the direction of the Project Manager and Human Resources, addressing their needs and concerns.
  • Communicate operational goals to staff in the absence of the Project Manager.
  • Provide necessary updates to clients regarding project status in the absence of the Project Manager.
  • Ensure that staff members have the necessary materials and supplies, coordinating with Logistics/Procurement functions to maintain a stocked inventory.
  • Perform additional job-related duties as assigned.


Qualifications and Skills:
  • High school diploma or equivalent, with previous experience in staff scheduling and workforce management within a healthcare setting preferred.
  • Minimum of one year of Emergency Response Experience required.
  • Ability to support a 24/7 shelter operation.
  • Ability to work safely and adhere to all safety rules and regulations.
  • Collaborative approach to enhance safety culture and quality.
  • Capability to lift 50 pounds and perform physical tasks as needed.
  • Strong multitasking, organizational, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively within a team.
  • Proficiency in technology, including Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Exceptional organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with professionalism in interactions at all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and make decisions under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in data entry, record-keeping, and scheduling activities.
  • Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and handling sensitive information with discretion.
  • Conflict resolution skills and adherence to company policy on performance and behavior issues.
  • Knowledge of healthcare operations, staffing requirements, and regulatory standards preferred.
  • Familiarity with Human Resources and Logistics processes preferred.
  • Proficiency in English; additional languages may be advantageous.
  • Availability to respond within 48 hours to designated locations when required.
