Position Summary: This position will provide direct support and assistance to the Business Administrator/Board Secretary and Assistant Business Administrator in the fulfillment of the responsibilities of that position. This is a twelve-month position. This position does not require specific certification and is not eligible for tenure. This position is considered part of the school district's central administration.

Qualifications: Proven organizational skills and heightened sense of attention to detail. Ability to use Excel, Word and familiarity with use of computer networks. Strong written and oral communication skills. Ability to collect, interpret and analyze data for tasks and projects. Ability to handle varied tasks and assignments. Flexibility to adapt to changes in job assignments based on organizational needs. Willingness to provide time necessary to perform specific assignments. School district accounting experience desirable. Bachelor's degree in accounting, business management or finance preferable.

General Duties and Responsibilities:

* Maintenance of the school district's financial accounting system pursuant to the district requirements and those of the State department of education.

* Accounts receivable posting, monitoring and deposits.

* Process all invoices for payment, check generation and preparation of monthly bill list.

* Prepare monthly Secretary and Treasurer Reports and bank reconciliations.

* Post semi-monthly payroll as provided by Payroll Bookkeeper.

* Collect data for budget development. Organize data for administrative and Board review.

* Maintain the record of financial activity for the district's food service program including but not limited to recording cash receipts and disbursements and reconciliation of monthly bank statements.

* Provide support for processing of Free and Reduced lunch applications.

* Monitor purchasing practices to check for compliance with Public School contract law, proper accounting and adherence to sound business office practices.

* Monitor financial activity in all state and federal Special Revenue Projects and advise on compliance with grant budgets. Assist in preparation of reports required by NJDOE.

* Oversee maintenance of fixed asset records.

* Monitor use of student activity checking accounts and perform in-house audits to insure compliance.

* Provide athletic event ticket and a record of tickets issued and income received.

* Maintain contracts and records relative to copier equipment Maintenance and Lease Agreements.

* Maintain Tuition Agreements and oversee payment of bills and or collection of tuition.

* Prepare 1099's

* Perform other duties as may be assigned by the Business Administrator/Board Secretary.

Evaluation of Performance: Performance of this position will be evaluated in accordance with the New Jersey Administrative Code and Board of Education Policy.

Additional Responsibilities: Performs such other tasks and assumes such other responsibilities as the Business Administrator/Assistant Business Administrator may assign or delegate.

Evaluation: Performance in this position will be evaluated annually in accordance with the Board's policy on evaluation.

Computer Skills: Proficient in computer applications pertinent to support the position.
