Phillys Paws & Claws is now hiring! We have a full-service pet care business. We provide dog grooming, dog walking, pet sitting, dog daycare/boarding, and pet taxi services. We are expanding on our amazing team of pet care professionals.
- Dog Groomer ready to work with the wide variety of dog breeds that visit our location for dog daycare and dog boarding services.
- This role is designed to be flexible and part-time. When you first get started, you will have a shorter schedule. Most groomers will work 15-25 hours per week (based on client demand and your availability).
- Additional work opportunities (dog walking, dog daycare, etc.) may be available.
- Most grooming demand is MON-FRI from 10am to 4pm but you can set your own schedule. We do require that your availability is consistent week to week.
- We are located in North West Philadelphia.
Compensation:
50% commission on dog grooming services.
$20 - $30 / hour

The responsibilities:
- We have a built-in client list, but we are also looking for groomers who are interested in expanding it.
- Grooming services can include bathing, brushing, trimming, and styling based on breed and customer preference.
- We inspect coat condition, dental hygiene, and skin health.
- Keep the grooming area clean and safe.
- You will have an opportunity to educate and suggest products to help our client's pets stay healthy and beautiful.
- As needed, manage and schedule client appointments. Most clients will be coming from our daycare groups.
- With time, we would like to have the next groomer take over the department. Motivated candidates are encouraged to apply.

The ideal candidate skills:- We would strongly prefer a candidate with prior professional or volunteer dog grooming experience.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Fantastic time management skills.
- Ability and desire to provide a first-class customer and canine experience.
- Ability to manage larger breeds, with the ability to temporarily lift 75 lbs.
- A love and understanding for all dog breeds.
