Univision Stations Group, L.P. in Houston, TX seeks a full-time Sports Anchor to anchor, shoot, report, and edit sports stories for the company's news programs, principally the two daily newscasts, Monday to Friday. Generate story ideas that go beyond the highlights, contributing on all our digital platforms, including TV and radio. Produce and report sports stories using company equipment, non-linear editing equipment, and related broadcasting equipment and newsroom computer systems. Writing creative and conversationally for broadcast and online. Research, investigate, interview, write, produce and report daily sports packages, special news series on tape and/or live from the field. Utilize P2 and XD cameras to shoot interviews. Attend and participate in off-site company-sponsored and community events as assigned by station management.
Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Communications or Journalism or related field, plus 5 years of experience in the occupation or as a television journalist.
Must be fluent in written and spoken Spanish. Must have experience producing and editing television content. Must be well versed in MLB, NBA, and NFL leagues. Must be well versed in international and national soccer. Must have experience reporting and presenting televised sports news.
