In This Role

  • Supervise day-to-day activities of assigned department.
  • Provide guidance and training to hourly workforce to ensure picking, receiving and quality goals are met.
  • Meet picking and receiving schedules as well as inventory control and accuracy.
  • Drive cost saving initiatives to improve performance and cost of the warehouse operation.
  • Assist with driving LEAN activities to improve performance.
  • Maintain positive employee relations, open communications while resolving employee discipline or performance issues.
  • Maintain professional relationships with other departments within operation and corporate office.
  • Identify, recommend, develop and implement improvements in safety, quality, processes, costs and SOP documentation.
  • Secure the facilities when leaving for the day when closing building. Doors are closed and locked with master locks and alarm is set.
  • Ensure the facility is clean and all safety programs are being followed.
  • Correct unsafe conditions in work area and report any conditions that are not correctable to Warehouse Manager immediately.
  • Conduct stands up meetings at the beginning of each shift to review past performances and workload for current day
  • Work cross functionally with other departments to meet company goals and objectives.

The Ideal Person

  • Minimum of 2 years of distribution/warehouse supervisory experience
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in warehouse distribution required.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience working nights
  • Proficiency in Warehouse Management Systems and MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Proven ability to coach, train, mentor, and lead by example
  • Able to Maintain productivity and efficiency in a fast-paced, high-pressure setting.
  • Excellent organizational and analytical skills
  • Identify items on all paperwork including, but not limited to customer orders and labels, manifest documents, packing lists, stock receipts, and bill of ladings as needed!
  • Lift 50lbs repeatedly through the course of the day without assistance; and maneuver and lift up to 225 lbs repeatedly with assistance.
  • Able to work overtime as needed.
  • Forklift experience/certification preferred but not required but must have the ability to be trained.
  • Operate manual and electric material handling equipment, such as hand trucks, forklifts and order pickers.
