JOB SUMMARY


The Quality Assurance Manager (QAM) is for leading the quality assurance and quality control (QA/QC) team and ensuring compliance with all applicable regulations and standards. The QAM is responsible for developing and implementing QA/QC strategies for new and existing products and is responsible ensuring adherence to stringent industry standards, regulatory guidelines, and best practices across all proposal and project stages including, procurement, engineering, fabrication, construction, commissioning, and startup. This position will ensure all parties comply with the established quality control systems, monitoring compliance and contractual obligations throughout the Project lifecycle.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Lead, with quality assurance and quality control management, the development and implementation of strategies to meet the business needs of Bay Ltd.
  • Promotes QA/QC with the expectation of accurate records and data elements, and validation of all performance data.
  • Responsible for setting and executing short- and long-term goals and objectives.
  • Drive best-in-class Quality through construction, commissioning, and startup phases of all CAPEX projects.
  • Establish, implement, and maintain QA/QC systems and procedures to ensure compliance with all relevant regulatory and accrediting regulations and standards including state, federal, local, and international regulatory agencies.
  • Responsible for ensuring the use of the Quality Management System (QMS) for QA/QC processes.
  • Develop metrics and reports with meaningful data related to activity levels, quality measures, and regulatory compliance to Bay Ltd. leadership.
  • Perform audits and nonconformance investigations, root cause analysis, and other problem-solving activities to identify effective correction actions and process improvements.
  • Maintain excellent judgement and decision-making capabilities to formulate quality solutions.
  • Manages the selection, training, development, and performance of assigned staff to retain a motivated, professional workforce for the department.
  • Recruits and selects applicants for job vacancies considering the requirements of the job and the skills/abilities of the applicants.
  • Identifies training and/or development opportunities that will assist the employee in achieving enhanced job performance and/or career objectives.
  • Builds support and alliances between and among departments to promote a Performance Management culture.
  • Conducts performance reviews in alignment with job expectations.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.


EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS


  • 15+ years' experience in QA/QC positions, demonstrating leadership roles, career progression, including large capital project experience.
  • 10+ years experience in large oil and gas projects; EPC experience preferred.
  • Expertise in developing and executing quality management systems, quality plans, work procedures and inspection plans.
  • Professional certifications such as AWS CWI, Certified Quality Engineer, or related Quality Management Certificate.


SKILLS / KEY COMPETENCIES

  • Leadership experience with large teams, enforcing best industry standards, procedures, and engineering work processes.
  • Expertise in materials, welding, coating/painting, NDE inspection and general construction activities.
  • In depth knowledge of industry codes and standards such as from ANSI, NFPA, ASME, ASTM, API, and 49 CFR.
  • Excellent communication skills. Ability to communicate challenging subjects at various levels of the organization.
  • Decision maker with ability to think innovatively to offer practical solutions while achieving targeted risk profile.
  • Fluent in Spanish (preferred).


PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS


  • Will work in an office indoor setting with periodic construction site visits as required.
  • Moving about accomplishing tasks or moving from one worksite to another.
  • Ability to operate a computer and other office productivity.
  • Constantly perform repeating motions that may include feet, leg, wrists, hands and/or fingers.
  • Frequently communicate with other members of the team. Must be able to exchange accurate information in a clear manner.
  • Work that includes moving and/or lifting objects up to 25 pounds.
