**Description**

The warehouse supervisor will recommend or initiate actions in order to motivate employees, make improvements, increase productivity and achieve metric goals. Recommends and initiates personnel actions with management approval, including pay changes, promotions, transfers, demotions, disciplinary actions, and terminations. Mentors employees to build foundations for career paths and success, ensures a safe and positive work environment, including operation of equipment and safe material handling methods. Listens to, investigates and resolves customer/branch complaints regarding damaged products, products, product storage, or errors in product receipts. Customer Service: -Is a role model for excellent customer service by treating all customers fairly and honestly. -Ensures the Warehouse Team delivers the following customer service standards with a welcoming manner: -Customers are greeted as they arrive and promptly helped. -Customers come first, not paperwork or discussions with other Team Members. -Orders are written and pulled accurately. -Customers are thanked for their orders. -Customers are given assistance in loading will calls onto their trucks. -Orders are delivered on time. -Product is given to customers free of damage. -All Warehouse Team Members are friendly and helpful, with a can do attitude. -All customer issues resolved by the end of the following business day. Warehouse Team Member Development: -Assists by Recruiting, hiring, and training Team Members meeting company standards. -Team is composed of 100% top notch people; those not meeting standards are promptly coached and/or disciplined as appropriate. -Motivate employees, make improvements, increase productivity, and achieve metric goals. -Recommends and initiates personnel actions with management approval, including pay changes, promotions, transfers, demotions, disciplinary actions, and terminations. -Ensures Team Member compliance with company policies. -Mentors employees to build foundations for career paths and success, ensures a safe and positive work environment, including operation of equipment and safe material handling methods. -Listens to, investigates, and resolves customer/branch complaints regarding damaged products, products, product storage, or errors in product receipts. -Proactively sets goals and expectations for Warehouse Team Members. Warehouse Operations: -Complies with Company Standard Operating Procedures and maintains safe work practices and security, including: -All Team Members are properly trained in product and operating procedures. -Warehouse is clean, neat, safe, and organized. -Warehouse has appropriate layout, and product and storage location systems and labeling are properly implemented. -Items are kept in their proper storage locations. -Stock truck receiving is done, and all stock put away -Local Branch truck deliveries are ready within in reason of warehouse operations. -All safety meetings are held on time and the Team works in a safe manner. -Inventory accuracy meets standards. -Ensures accurate Bin Locations. -Team Members follow the word and spirit of Slakey policies and SOPs. -Equipment and vehicles are kept clean and properly maintained. -Works with Branch Manager to ensure disputed invoices are resolved in a timely manner. -Slow moving and discounted value inventory is disposed of in a timely manner. -Proper security is in place to prevent theft or damage to company property. -Acts as a working supervisor, completing general warehouse tasks as needed. **Education/Experience/Skills**

* High school diploma or GED required

* AA degree preferred, or equivalent work experience

* 3-5 years warehouse management experience.

* Heavy industrial equipment operation and working knowledge.

* Tenured background in process improvement and leadership experience in a distribution/ production environment.

* Previous experience using a WMS highly desired

* Consistently walks in an environment that can be hot, cold, and dusty.

* Excellent knowledge of the products Slakey sells

* Understanding of inside sales, outside sales, warehouse, and delivery functions.

* Proactive, self-motivated, able to recognize issues and resolve or escalate appropriately

* Strong decision-making abilities - understands impact and implications of decisions

* Strong negotiation, written and verbal skills.

* Demonstrated ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.

* Able to work sitting or standing and move freely throughout the facility(s).

* Able to lift and carry equipment, supplies and inventory on a frequent basis.

* Able to organize people within the warehouse and promote teamwork.
