Group Sales Manager

We are looking for a fast-thinking individual that seeks challenges with enthusiasm, has a strong sense of urgency and enjoys a competitive sales arena in the hospitality field. This person enjoys building relationships and continued people interaction where flexibility and ability to "think outside of the box" is recognized and appreciated.

The Group Sales Manager reports to the Director of Sales and is charged with meeting and or exceeding sales goals by providing complete account penetration for their geographically or vertically assigned territory by focusing on group business.

Your Role:

  • Identify a new business that fits sales parameters.
  • Solicit new and existing accounts to meet/exceed revenue goals through telephone solicitation, outside sales calls, site inspections, and written communication.
  • Book repeat business
  • Develop long-term relationships.
  • Participate in pre-convention meetings, training, and other sales-related meetings as required.
  • Work with other departments within the hotel to provide quality service to customers.
  • Attend trade shows, community events, and industry meetings.
  • Research/maintain knowledge of market trends, competition, and customers.
  • Preparing correspondence to customers, internal booking reports, and client data


Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 2+ years hotel group sales manager experience
  • Proficient with Microsoft Suite, internet, and email
  • Corporate, SMERF, and Association market sales experience
  • Demonstrated ability to achieve and exceed sales goals by effectively negotiating and closing business.
  • Excellent team player and innovator fostering a culture of performance, accountability, trust, and credibility.
  • Ability to identify, target new accounts, and sell concepts and ideas to clients.
  • Ability to create and deliver high-quality experience that meets or exceeds our guests' expectations.
  • Effective time management and organization skills, communication skills both verbal and written.


Please be advised, we are a large full-service hotel and as such this position requires extended periods on your feet with frequent long walks around the internal areas of the hotel along with considerable physical activity on a continuous basis, up to and including entire shifts.
