Job Summary
These positions have technical understanding of generator repair and operation and are able to perform repairs and preventive maintenance checks.
Essential Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot operational failures of generators.
- Repair and adjust transfer switches and perform major repairs on units.
- Install and test new generator units.
- Work with other Technicians on larger projects.
- Train lower-level Technicians.
- Respond quickly to jobsites in case of emergency.
- Document all work and repairs completed.
- Follow safety requirements, including proper use of PPE.

- Experience with Microsoft Suite of programs.
Education & Experience Preferences/Requirements
Degree Required: Technical School Certificate
Certifications Preferred: Kohler Certifications based on Level
Years of Experience: 4-6
Experience in power generation industry; experience in diesel or gas engines.
Working Environment / Conditions
- Must be able to use hands/fingers handle, or feel
- Reach with hands and arms
- Stand, walk, sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch and crawl
- Lift and/or move up to 50 lbs. (and occasionally up to 100 lbs.)
- Be exposed to moving mechanical parts; fumes or airborne particles; outside weather conditions (extreme heat and cold), and risk of electrical shock
