**Customer Service Specialist**

This position performs primarily retail, clerical, and administrative support duties of average difficulty at the Citys Seaplane Base, Marina, Prop Shop, and Splash Park. The customer service specialist is responsible for engaging customers and the public in a pleasant professional manner to enhance the customer experience. The customer service specialist is also responsible for inventory management, receiving of packages, invoicing, receiving and responding to phone calls, communicating with waterfront stakeholders, and assisting the Aviation Manager and Aviation Operations Supervisor with day-to-day administrative functions as necessary. The customer service specialist must exercise reasonable independent judgment and initiative in carrying out daily work assignments within established policies and procedures. This position consistently demonstrates ambassador customer care and communications skills, and reports to the Aviation Operations Supervisor.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

1. Interacts with the public, related agencies, City departments, supervisors, and coworkers in a professional and courteous manner at all times

2. Prop Shop storekeeping, including the sale of oil, ice, fuel, and other store merchandise.

3. Record keeping of fuel sales and inventory.

4. Ordering of fuel for marine and aviation resale.

5. From time to time assist with marine and aviation event planning and coordination with participants.

6. Processing and organization of invoices for review by Aviation Manager.

7. Assists Aviation Manager in entering purchasing requisitions as needed.

8. Responsible for processing credit card charges and cash sales

9. Assists in maintaining adequate Prop Shop inventory levels and ordering when appropriate.

10. Responds to inquiries from the public regarding dockage rates, rules and regulations, information about the marina facility, as well as the nearby surrounding area.

11. Follows safety, customer service, money handling, and problem-solving procedures

12. Assigns dock space, registers customers, processes facility reservations, collects fees, and maintains organized and accessible records

13. Performs additional duties related to the seaplane base, marina, Wooton Park, and the Splash Park as directed by the Aviation Operations Supervisor and Aviation Manager.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

1. Must possess a positive attitude and excellent public relations skills

2. Must be able to work without supervision and be on call for all emergencies

3. Ability to safely and efficiently dispense fuel

4. Knowledge of point of sale computer systems

5. Skilled in Microsoft Office products and cloud-based alternatives

6. Databasing i.e. records and sales history.

7. Ability to provide accurate change for cash customers

8. Ability to identify counterfeit currency

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

1. High school diploma or equivalent from an accredited institution

2. Minimum of two years of experience in one or more of the following: customer service, airport FBO operations, retail sales, inventory management, inventory ordering, preferred

LICENSES, CERTIFICATIONS, OR REGISTRATIONS:

1. Possession of a valid Florida drivers license

2. CPR and First Aid certifications (training is provided to employees if needed)

ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL SKILLS:

Acceptable eyesight (with or without correction)

Acceptable hearing (with or without hearing device)

Ability to communicate both orally in and in writing

Sufficient manual dexterity to develop skill in the operation of point of sale computer system

Ability to access, input, and retrieve information from a point of sale computer

Walking, reaching, stretching, bending, pulling, pushing, stooping

Lifting and carrying up to 30 pounds unassisted, using property lifting and safety procedures

Ability to communicate via two-way radio systems

Ability to stand for extended periods

Ability to swim in various wind and weather conditions

ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS:

Works inside and occasionally outside, in various wind and weather conditions

Exposure to fuel vapors

Work schedule includes all hours, shifts, days of the week, during storms, and holidays. This position will routinely work weekend days.
