Seeking a dedicated Service Manager to spearhead a team of field technicians and operations professionals, ensuring the seamless execution of planned maintenance, repair, overhaul, and installation projects. Your primary goal will be to not only meet but exceed our customers' expectations while achieving revenue and margin targets. The ideal candidate will possess a robust comprehension of the commercial refrigeration and HVAC industry, with a focus on fostering strong client relationships, nurturing talent, optimizing field operations, and upholding safety standards.


Responsibilities:

  • Forecast, monitor, and meticulously document financial performance against established plans.
  • Engage with customers within the service territory to guarantee satisfaction, retention, and identify potential additional service opportunities.
  • Demonstrate expertise in mechanical systems, including adherence to appropriate codes and industry standards.
  • Conduct daily reviews of service invoices, ensuring accuracy in time card comparisons and pricing spot-checks.
  • Approve daily time cards and warranty invoices promptly, addressing valid warranty issues efficiently.
  • Recruit, interview, hire, and train technicians as necessary to meet workload demands and exceed company and customer expectations.
  • Supervise and guide field technicians in executing equipment repair, maintenance, start-up, operation, and other tasks to ensure utmost customer satisfaction.
  • Maintain consistent communication within the team to ensure proper scheduling and dispatching based on skill level, efficiency, and training needs.
  • Scrutinize work orders, invoices, and time reports for precision and efficient management of accounts receivable.
  • Assume responsibility for the profitability of the service department and ensure all Service Technicians receive appropriate training.
  • Supervise Service Dispatcher(s), Service Administrator(s), and Service Parts personnel.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.


Requirements:

  • Ten or more years of relevant management experience in a HVAC service industry or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Proficiency in refrigeration, HVAC, and/or electrical trades.
  • Familiarity with pricing, billing processes, and ability to comprehend financial reports.
  • Experience in directing warranty claims.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication abilities.
  • Keen attention to detail and exceptional time management.
  • Highly organized with advanced customer service skills.
  • Possession of a valid driver's license and an insurable driving record.
  • Six to ten years of commercial service management experience.
  • Working knowledge and understanding of commercial HVAC systems.
  • Technical aptitude, including knowledge of local building codes, with the ability to devise solutions using available resources.
