First Nick Companies is currently hiring for a full-time Foreman. The Foreman Exercises independent judgment related to the day-to-day management of the project. The Foreman role is one of leader, coach, negotiator, facilitator, and arbitrator. The leadership displayed by this individual is critical to the Project s success.

Responsibilities

  • Understanding and implementing the field Standard Operating Procedures in daily activities.
  • Is knowledgeable of construction principles, techniques, and procedures.
  • Always respects the client and maintains a whatever it takes attitude to address the client s needs.
  • Manage, and document all day-to-day job site activities.
  • Direct project personnel according to the project plan and/or the direction of the Field Manager
  • Provide feedback on the performance for team members and mentor less experienced staff
  • Communicate issues, events, performance, and job progress daily to the Field Manager
  • Request advice and assistance as needed from the Field Manager, and/or Project Manager on matters pertaining to materials, sequencing, scheduling, and personnel
  • Establish effective working relationships with the entire team.


Pre-construction

  • Reviews with Field Manager company job Binder to better understand Schedule, Scope of Work, Approved Colors, & Approved Finishes
  • Walks through a new project with the Field Manager prior to the start of a job
  • Reviews the construction schedule with the Field Manager and makes sure to understand the start dates and durations of the scope of work.


Scheduling


  • Weekly Review of the three-week look ahead schedule with the Project Manager.
  • Advises and assists Field Manager with any employee schedule changes on an as-needed basis based on job manpower needs.
  • Needs to report to the HR department any employee requests for days off or PTO 5 days prior to the requested date.
  • Needs to report any employees coming late to work daily on smartsheets.



Site Management

  • Oversees project crew and makes sure that all tasks are being performed on time and according to the plan and schedules; notifies the field manager of any issues.
  • Understands what is considered our work and what is extra work and gets approval from Field Manager before doing any of the work.
  • Is responsible for ordering materials by email 24 hours in advance to Sherwin Williams & making, sure enough, the material is on-site for the week.
  • Trains, evaluates, and supervises team employees .
  • Manages employee performance & quality control to First Nick standards for all team members.
  • Is responsible for maintaining a clean work area.



Safety

  • Walks the project daily to ensure that all activities are being performed in accordance with all OSHA regulations and the project site-specific safety plan and contract documents.


Quality Management

  • Become familiar with Quality Management Process, and SOP and assist the Team with implementation.
  • Meeting Management.
  • Attend & participate in weekly subcontractor meetings & notify the Field Manager of any issues from the weekly job meeting.
  • Review & notify the Field Manager of any 3 week look ahead issues you see from the weekly job meeting.



Administrative Management

  • Submits & uploads progress photos on a weekly basis.
  • Reports any Employee issues to the HR department for further review.
  • Submits employee s hours in Smart Sheet Templates.
  • Enforces company policies to ensure a respectful and safe work environment.
  • Documents all on-site materials and/or equipment and makes sure the proper maintenance of tools.


Physical Requirements

  • Must be able to walk the job site including the ability to climb ladders and traverse uneven surfaces.
  • Must be able to sit or stand for long periods of time for meeting attendance and computer work.
  • Must be able to provide own transportation to job sites.
