No weekends
SeClienthing for a physician who is board-eligible or board-certified in internal medicine, family medicine, or emergency medicine and who is experienced in primary care to provide on-site services to the male population at this facility. Full-time services will also include spending 12 day/week at the male institution across the street (Ross Correctional Institution). Schedule is weekdays - no evenings, weekends, or holidays. Preferred schedule is five 8-hour days/week. Selected physician will see approximately 2.5 patients/hour. Assignment may last at least 6 months and eventually lead to permanent hire if there is mutual good fit. Both a phone interview and an on-site meeting/tour at Chillicothe Correctional Institution will be required prior to offer decision.
Physician Duties
- Working collaboratively with intra and interCliental staff to administer treatment for patients utilizing nationally recognized treatment standards and documenting utilizing an electronic health record system
- Conducting exams and writing evaluations and reports
- Ordering and interpreting diagnostic testing
- Completing reclassifications and other reviews as indicated
- Making referrals for specialized care or treatment
- Performing duties in accordance with scope of practice, ODRC policies, procedures, protocols, and related American Correctional Association standards
- Participating in Continuous Quality Improvement meetings and activities, including peer reviews
