RJR Executive Search has been retained to manage the candidate selection process for a talented Executive Vice President of Operations. Our client is located in Florida writing homeowners insurance across the country. We are seeking a proactive and highly motivated leader for their organization with the desire to lead multiple areas of the organization (underwriting, claims, product, human resources, marketing, operations, etc.)

The EVP of Operations role is a highly visible executive role responsible for leading major segments of this growing and highly profitable company. In addition to being responsible for major segments of the organization this individual will lead major transformational initiatives as well. We are seeking an individual who could eventually rise to the COO and CEO executive roles.

Areas of Responsibility:



  • Determine and maintain the strategic direction for the organization by collaborating with senior leaders and utilizing metrics across the organization to ensure growth, stability, higher profits, and bottom-line results.
  • Collaborate with the COO to ensure coordination between all business areas to achieve both individual department results and overall company goals and objectives.
  • Leverage data analytics to drive insights and decision-making, monitor performance metrics across the organization.
  • Collaborate with Human Resources to develop and implement a staffing strategy, monitor, and measure its success across the organization.
  • Ensure all aspects of the Talent Management program is successfully executed for the Operations team, including Performance Feedback sessions, developmental plans, succession planning, and goal progression/attainment.
  • Recognize and course correct operational plans, performance, and procedures as needed to improve and maintain the efficiency of overall operations.
  • Work in collaboration with Human Resources to identify high potential talent and implement leadership development plans, ensuring a robust succession plan across the organization.
  • Maintain awareness and effectively analyze the business environment to identify and understand competitors, environmental changes, and other potential issues that could impact the organization.
  • Foster and maintain strong relationships with agents and strategic partners.
  • Implement best practices and leverage technology to enhance overall operations.



Qualifications/Requirements:


  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, insurance, or a related field.
  • A master's degree and/or insurance designations (CPCU, SCLA, etc.) preferred.
  • At least 15 years of experience in the P&C homeowner's insurance industry.
  • 5 to 7 years of experience in an Executive Leadership role.
  • Extensive experience with distressed insurance markets; Florida required.
  • Minimum 10 years' experience successfully building and leading a high-performing insurance operations environment (i.e. underwriting, claims, product, sales, marketing, actuarial, etc.)
