JOB SUMMARY

The Instructor for Adult Programs is a passionate, motivated individual who loves to work with and teach all ages, provides a great customer experience, and has a desire to help our climbing community grow in their abilities. The position involves large group instruction and adult introductory series classes with the possibility of training instructors on similar level programs, while managing risks for participants. Part time instructors are primarily working on weeknights and weekends. Prior climbing experience is required and lead climbing ability and previous instruction experience is a plus.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Teach climbing skills from provided curriculums, facilitate transformative moments through instruction and create inclusive spaces that foster a sense of belonging.
  • Facilitate transformative climbing experiences while managing risks for participants and the community at large.
  • Communicate effectively with clients of all ages and abilities while demonstrating empathy and compassion.
  • Provide excellent customer service for all guests by seeking answers and solutions for customer questions.
  • Communicate clearly and respectfully with co-workers and supervisors about feedback and concerns.
  • Speak open and honestly; asking for help when needed and look to learn from mistakes.


JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Have a passion for climbing, yoga, or fitness, or an interest in engaging with our community, and show a growth mindset through a willingness to learn and a sense of curiosity.
  • Demonstrate an openness to learn from others and collaborate to achieve common goals.
  • Interest in working with both children and adults to support others having transformative, purpose-driven experiences.
  • Have a relentlessly positive and upbeat attitude to inspire others to live life intentionally and strive for personal bests.
  • Prior climbing experience required and prior experience instructing on any topic preferred.
  • Prior experience teaching climbing, especially lead climbing skills preferred but not required.
  • Ability to work 3-10 hours per week primarily on weeknights and/or weekends.


ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

  • This is a part time position
  • The pay range for this position starts at $13.25/hr and may increase based on experience and qualifications.

  • New hires will complete a screening process.
  • Scheduled shift times may vary from week to week or month to month.
