An integral member of the Finance team, our Inventory Accountant tells the story of inventory movement through the financial statements. This is a key role that has a direct line of sight with senior management on the global inventory operations. This position requires effective preparation, reconciliation, and analysis of materials through the stages of production (RM, WIP, FG) and the transparency of cost of goods sold (COGS) results. Cost drivers affecting COGS are reported to senior management and any action plan based off results is presented to various stakeholders within the organization.

**Essential Duties and Responsibilities**

Provide effective analysis and understanding of COGS results, budget development, and variance reporting to senior management by developing insightful reporting that helps to understand current financial performance and set the future direction of the organization.

Prepare, reconcile, and analyze manufacturing orders to ensure proper tracking of costs and timely closure for accurate reporting.

Partner with the Controller and senior management to review and understand raw materials, work in process, finished goods, and overhead cost drivers.

Prepare and present the excess and obsolescence report to Controller and senior management.

Assess performance trends, identify workflow inefficiencies, propose and develop solutions, verify implementation, and monitor effectiveness to ensure internal financial controls are safeguarding the organizations assets and supporting our rapid growth and cost efficiency.

Supervise accuracy and set up the standard cost for labor overhead and bill of materials including material usage, material price, routings, and time consumed.

Lead the process for cycle counts and timely adjustments to inventory as deviations rise.

Oversee and ensure accuracy of all cost accounting and financial analysis reporting; monitor relevant key performance indicators and reviews rate, volume, mix, efficiency, spending, and usage variances.

Partner effectively with the Controller and senior management to develop and implement ongoing cost savings strategies, benchmarking, and incorporate new practices and manufacturing strategies.

Participate in worldwide sharing of best practices, including developing/documenting cost accounting policy and internal controls.

**Qualifications**

Bachelors degree in Accounting or Finance; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Working knowledge of cost accounting principles and methodologies related to product costing, bills of material, manufacturing routings, and inventory control is required.

Proficient in GAAP, and full understanding of accounting systems and procedures.

Experience with planning, budgeting, and cost control concepts and methods.

Exceptional analytical and negotiation skills.

Performs at high levels in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.

Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office applications, with advanced level Excel capabilities. Experience with Microsoft Dynamics Great Plains is preferred.

Effectively communicates verbally and in writing to create clarity and understanding.

Continuous improvement mindset. Naturally identifies opportunities and potential challenges and engages appropriate team members in finding and implementing solutions.

Ability to influence and positively reinforce quality work with colleagues/peers/partners, leading by example.

**Compensation**

$90,000/year or higher commensurate with experience; 401K with match; health and dental insurance; long term disability and life insurance; paid holidays and paid time off (PTO). Open to some remote work provided that business needs are met.
