Position Description

Under the direction of the Senior Associate Director ofOperations, the Admissions Evaluator -Credential Evaluations carefully reviewsand evaluates transcripts for transferable credit and calculates cumulativeGPAs for admitted students. The Evaluator also confirms prerequisite coursesare fulfilled and/or in progress and calculates major GPAs. As a key member of the AdmissionsOperations team, evaluators also maintain data and applicant/record cleanlinessand provide support to general operation tasks throughout the year.

TheAdmissions Evaluator determines course equivalencies and applies applicants'previous coursework towards Seattle University's degree requirements and postsappropriate equivalencies of transferred credit hours awarded and currentclass standing in the University's ERP and CRM systems, specificallyColleague and Slate, respectively.

  • Serve as an academic policy resource for incomingfreshmen and transfer students regarding University Core and major transferrequirements for all undergraduate degrees.
  • Key contact foracademic liaisons throughout the University on academic policy matters relatedto the onboarding of undergraduate students with transferrable credit.
  • Responds to inquiries from prospectivestudents, including explaining their completed evaluations, and providesinformation on university transfer policies and contributes to the overalleffort of meeting the University's annual undergraduate enrollment goals.
  • Adds course equivalencies to the online TES databasesystem and assists in the development of effective tools/resources for bestpractices in communicating transfer course equivalencies to prospectivetransfers.
  • Assists in maintaining data andapplicant/record cleanliness in various ways working closely with other individualswithin the Admissions Operations team and Research and Analytics.These tasks may consist of editing smallparts of multiple records, general audits, the scanning and assigning ofdocuments, exporting of data for mass corrections, etc.


Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
  • Demonstrated commitment to diversity and the university's mission, vision and values.
  • One or more years of experience in customer service and detailed data entry - educational environment in the areas of credential evaluation academic advising, transfer evaluation, or an equivalent combination of education and experience preferred.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment is essential.
  • The ideal candidate will be a resilient and innovative problem solver, have excellent organizational abilities with an acute attention to detail, and strong interpersonal skills that enable him/her to develop positive relationships with key campus partners and provide personalized attention to prospective students throughout the admissions process.
  • The ability to exercise professional judgment to make informed decisions based on experience, reason and policy while considering issues of equity, fairness and historical precedent.
  • Adept at managing and prioritizing multiple tasks.
  • Familiarity with Ellucian Colleague, CRM experience - specifically Slate.
  • Familiarity with Transfer Evaluation System (TES)

Compensation at a Glance:

Salary Range: $45,000 - $48,000

Seattle University has provided a compensation range that representsits good faith estimate of what the University may pay for the position at thetime of posting. The salary offered to the selected candidate will bedetermined based on factors such as the qualifications of the selectedcandidate, departmental budget availability, internal salary equityconsiderations, and available market information, and not based on acandidate's gender or any other protected status.
