Job Description:

The Structured Cabling Technician is responsible for installation of cabling infrastructure and termination of CAT 6, Cat 6A, Fiber Optic Cable, and various other disciplines. The position includes the testing and troubleshooting of infrastructure problems. This is a field position for the implementation of low-voltage structured cabling. Those applying must have minimum 3 years relevant field experience in the installation of structured cabling in a commercial environment.

* Responsible for installing pathways and low-voltage cabling in new or existing buildings.
* Termination of new cabling.
* Responsible for testing and troubleshooting of cable.
* Mounting network racks and cabinets.
* Mounting and positioning audio visual, network and surveillance equipment.
* Works safely and responsibly to avoid injuries, damage to property, loss of unused materials and cleans up installation debris.

While performing the duties of this highly physical position, the Structured Cabling Technician is frequently required to sit; talk; hear; and use hands, arms, and fingers. Hard hats, safety glasses safety shoes, and hearing protection are often required to be worn. This position requires walking, stooping, and kneeling. It requires employees to regularly lift and or move up to 10 lbs. and frequently lifts and or move up to 50 lbs. and occasionally lift and or move more than 50 lbs. This position requires the ability to work from ladders and man lifts/bucket trucks ranging regularly from 4ft. to 12ft. and occasionally higher heights. Job Requirements

Requirements :

* Minimum of 3 years in structured cabling and other advanced technologies.
* Must be knowledgeable in various wiring configurations and terminations.
* Ability to read and interpret architectural designs.
* Working knowledge of construction, electrical and engineering drawings.
* Exceptional customer service and communication skills are essential.
* Communicates effectively and appropriately when dealing with other departments and/or personnel at levels up to President.
* Previous experience in the correct use of power tools is a must.
* Required to complete work within the defined time frames/deadlines.
* Position requires the ability to work both independently and within a team environment by maintaining flexibility to work overtime and weeks as the business requires, including occasional overnight stays.
* Strong organizational, technical and interpersonal skills
* Possess and have the ability to operate hand and power tools
* Ability to unload ladder from company vehicle and climb ladder
* Ability to work on a ladder for extended periods of time or high lift
* Ability to operate Company vehicle in a safe manner at all times when required
