Jesuit Dallas English Teacher

Jesuit Dallas is seeking a qualified and passionate educator to teach high school science in a Catholic all-male setting. This teacher will be expected to:

Form and educate young men to be open to growth, intellectually competent, loving, religious, committed to working for justice and physically fit.
Teach, in cooperation with course level teams, five sections of English or the equivalent.
Collaborate with members of the English Department in on-going curriculum development and review.
Participate in all departmental and school-wide faculty formation.
Engage in on-going professional development.
Participate in student-centered co-curricular, extra-curricular, service, and/or retreat opportunities.

Qualifications

Undergraduate degree in English, Literature, or related field.
Advanced degree preferred.
Experience teaching in a Standards Aligned Curriculum preferred.
Ability to coach high school athletics preferred.

Physical Requirements and Work Environment

Works in a fast-paced environment dealing with a wide variety of challenges, deadlines, and a diverse array of contacts.
May work at a desk and computer for an extended period of time.
Occasionally lift up to 30 pounds.
