Position: Senior Database Administrator
Top Secret Clearance Needed (Can hold SCI or poly)
Locations: McLean, VA or Tempe, AZ
- 25% Travel to Arizona or to Virginia starting out at once a month, then once every other month, then once a quarter.
Hybrid Schedule: 3 days onsite, 2 days at home

Mus Haves:
- Bachelor s degree in Computer Science or related field OR equivalent relevant experience in lieu of degree (must have 8 years of experience and a MySQL database cert if no degree).
- 8+ years of relevant experience in the Information Technology (IT) industry.
- Experience with MySQL database administration required.
- Experience setting up a MySQL Database in the past, or experience maintaining one.
Intangibles Needed:
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to clearly convey information to cross-departmental groups or those unfamiliar with the topic.
- The ability to easily build relationships with leadership and colleagues outside of your team.
- An analytical mindset, with the ability to understand a situation or problem and think critically to make decisions and come up with out-of-the-box solutions.
- Proactivity in providing feedback and sharing your knowledge with others.
- The ability to prioritize your own tasks and potentially the tasks of others while making sure deadlines are met.
Plusses:
- Relevant certification in MySQL database administration, Red Hat OS administration, MS Windows administration (i.e., CompTIA, RHCE, MSCE, F5 etc.).
- Previous experience working in a telecommunications environment.
- Experience with MSSQL and/or other databases.
- Familiarity with Web development technologies.
