Maintenance Technician/ Forklift - Night Shift 3 pm- 1:30 am


Job Details

The Maintenance Technician position is responsible for performing preventative, predictive and routine maintenance tasks including troubleshooting issues, repairing failures of production and facilities equipment, and ensuring maximum equipment efficiency and effectiveness.

Job Responsibilities

  • Repair and maintain plant machinery and equipment such as welders, pneumatic hand tools, electric hand tools, pumps, motors, compressors, etcetera
  • Repair or replace control devices such as switches, sensors, button controllers, valves, motor starters, etcetera
  • Perform work order repairs, inspections, and adjustments
  • Document repair reports
  • Fabricate and modify new and existing equipment
  • Participate in plant safety, health, and environmental programming
  • Learn and retain skills and practices needed to complete duties in assigned area
  • Read and follow detailed operator instructions, installation drawings, blueprints, etcetera, as required
  • Self-check work and inspect prior processes
  • Use basic hand, electric, cordless, and pneumatic tools, as required
  • Maintain a clean and safe work area
  • Initiate process improvements
  • Support 5S in work area
  • Communicate with manufacturing and other cross-functional teams (engineering, materials, purchasing, sales, etcetera) to resolve issues
  • Obtain and maintain a valid fork truck/stand up license - including completion of daily maintenance log and proper maintenance of equipment
  • Other tasks as assigned
  • HS Diploma or GED required
  • 4 years of experience in manufacturing and facilities maintenance
  • Forklift experience
  • 1 year of experience with HVAC, hydraulics, pneumatics, mechanics, and basic electrical repair-120v & 480v (consideration will be given to equivalent combinations of education and experience)

  • Maintain a valid driver's license
  • Must have experience using mills, lathes, drill presses, grinders, and other metal working machinery
  • Strong mechanical aptitude a must
  • Knowledge of basic assembly processes preferred
  • Able to:

o Accumulate tools and equipment required to perform assigned tasks

o Lift 50 pounds waist high

o Embrace change

o Read and comprehend documents and prints at a high level

o Work overtime on short notice

  • Willing to:

o Improve self / area / company (including pursuing additional training, if needed)

o Develop a working knowledge of company's systems (example: AS/400, maintenance software)
