Summary:

Navisun is seeking a Vice President, Project Finance and FPA to lead our capital structuring and project finance function. This role requires an individual with excellent communication skills, interfacing across a variety of levels, including external stakeholders, internal team members, the Senior Leadership Team, and the Board of Directors. Reporting to the CFO, you will lead origination efforts, corporate financing, project structuring and financing efforts to optimize the capital structure and returns for the Navisun operating and development portfolio of projects.


Responsibilities:

Key responsibilities include:

  • Lead origination efforts to secure tax equity, construction/term loan and corporate commitments to optimize the capital structure;
  • Lead negotiations of definitive documentation, coordinate diligence, and execute and close transactions;
  • Partner with the business development and asset management teams to drive growth and achieve target returns;
  • Lead the financial planning and analysis function for the organization, including developing the process and infrastructure to drive business performance;
  • Manage the project business case review and analysis of underwritten returns vs. actual performance to drive business performance and improvements;
  • Manage external experts, lawyers, and other third-party consultants contributing to project diligence as part of a debt and/or tax equity financing, as well as efficiently controlling diligence expenses;
  • Maintain and expand debt and tax equity financing relationships, as well as identifying new financing strategies and opportunities;
  • Solicit and review prospective term sheets from tax equity investors and lenders, and propose optimal solutions to senior management, including review and analysis of transferability structures versus traditional partnership flip and SLB structures;
  • Review all business development and financing models, ensuring inputs are consistent with internal views and validated by third-party consultants; and
  • Develop a team commensurate with the Navisun growth to deliver on annual 150MW target expectations.


Qualifications:

  • 7+ years of solar/storage industry experience, with a successful track record in DG project finance (debt and tax equity), with an emphasis on leading complex transactions to closing
  • Demonstrated track record of leading and closing financings, and an in-depth understanding debt and tax equity structures
  • Understanding and ability to work with financial models and perform sensitivity analyses, particularly regarding features specific to tax equity partnership and debt transactions
  • Ability to work across and with multiple teams to drive business execution and performance
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, including presentation skills to a variety of external partners and internal parties (team, senior management, Board)
  • A Detail oriented self-starter with a roll up your sleeves, entrepreneurial, collaborative, and problem-solving attitude
  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office suite software
  • Bachelor s degree in Finance or related field required, Masters in Business or Finance preferred
