Job Title: Power Electronics Firmware Engineer (FPGA/DSP/MCU)

Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled Power Electronics Firmware Engineer with expertise in FPGA, DSP, and MCU technologies to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in developing firmware for power electronics applications and experience in communication protocols for large electronic systems.

Responsibilities:

  1. Design, develop, and optimize firmware for power electronics control systems using FPGA, DSP, and MCU platforms.
  2. Implement advanced control algorithms for power converters, motor drives, and other power electronic systems.
  3. Collaborate with hardware engineers to integrate firmware with power electronics hardware components.
  4. Develop communication interfaces for seamless integration of power electronics systems into larger electronic systems.
  5. Ensure firmware compliance with safety and regulatory standards for power electronics applications.
  6. Conduct thorough testing and validation of firmware to ensure robust performance and reliability.
  7. Document firmware design, implementation, and testing procedures.
  8. Provide technical support and guidance to cross-functional teams during the product development lifecycle.
  9. Stay updated with the latest advancements in power electronics and firmware development technologies.

Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field. Advanced degree preferred.
  2. Proven experience (X years) in developing firmware for power electronics applications.
  3. Proficiency in FPGA programming using Verilog or VHDL.
  4. Strong background in DSP programming using languages such as C/C++ and MATLAB.
  5. Experience with MCU architectures and development tools (e.g., ARM Cortex-M).
  6. Familiarity with communication protocols such as CAN, Ethernet, SPI, and UART.
  7. Knowledge of power electronics principles and control algorithms.
  8. Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  9. Effective communication and collaboration skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  1. Experience in developing firmware for large electronic systems with complex communication requirements.
  2. Familiarity with real-time operating systems (RTOS) and embedded software development.
  3. Understanding of hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) simulation techniques for firmware validation.
  4. Knowledge of power semiconductor devices and their applications.
  5. Familiarity with industry-standard development and version control tools (e.g., Git, SVN).
