Quality Manager


Job Details

The Quality Manager work with the site leader and will partner with Director, Quality and Food Safety to provide guidance for the implementation and maintenance of Quality and Food Safety programs. Ensure safe warehousing, distribution and production of products that meet company, client, and FDA standards. Leads process improvement activities in the areas of product food safety, quality systems, pest control, sanitation, and product quality. Will follow corporate and site-specific Good Manufacturing Practices and report noncompliance when observed. In addition, the candidate will observe all company safety rules and assist in enforcement as appropriate.


Requirements:


  • 5-10 years as a hands-on Quality Manager in food manufacturing, including proven track-record in development of quality and food safety management systems
  • FSMA - PCQI Certification
  • HACCP/HARPC Certification
  • GFSI (FSSC22000 / SQF Practitioner / BRC) or ISO 9001 experience
  • Certified Food Defense Coordinator
  • Pest Control and/or ASQ certification is a plus
  • In-depth knowledge of cGMPs pertaining to human and pet foods
  • Experience with 3rd-party audits and inspections, including certifying and regulatory
  • Proficient computer skills, strong written and verbal communication skills, analytical ability, leadership strengths and ability to work effectively with a team
  • Highly organized and committed to the effective management of multiple projects
  • Extensive experience in using Quality problem-solving tools, such as CAPA, root cause, risk assessment
  • High School Diploma or GED; or equivalent combination of experience and education



Responsibilities:


  • Manage and submit renewals of licenses and registrations for all food and drug sites, such as FDA Food Facility Registration/renewals, Local food registrations/renewals (i.e. Dept of Ag), and Drug registrations/renewals
  • Serve as a Corporate Quality Auditor, conducting corporate quality annual food and quality audits of sites as assigned, and support sites in corrective actions generated from corporate audits.
  • Manage and oversee 3rd party audits as assigned, including scheduling the audits, assisting sites in audit preparation, attend the audits as assigned, and assist sites in corrective actions generated from 3rd party audit findings.
  • Function as a member of the CAPA investigation team for site corrective actions as assigned, Corporate QM will drive execution of the CAPA process at our sites as assigned
  • Function as a member of the Change Management Team for sites for change projects
  • One-on-one support, including development, training, implementation, and maintenance of quality and food safety processes, programs, and teams
  • Support sites in development and management of site quality objectives
  • Present corporate quality training as directed
  • Present corporate quality/food safety training topics to all sites.
  • Assist in managing the corporate quality Document Management System, including writing and revising corporate procedures and forms, approval of documents, and rolling out new and revised corporate processes to all sites.
  • Follow corporate and site-specific Good Manufacturing Practices and report noncompliance when observed.
  • Observe all company safety rules and assist in enforcement as appropriate.
