Maintenance Manager


Job Details

Our client is hiring in their Mobile Equipment Shop, which is responsible for the complete upkeep, service, and repair of all Mobile Equipment mining equipment (including large ton trucks, dozers, loaders, and all mobile support equipment for mining and production operations). This position is ideal for candidates with maintenance leadership experience in automotive or diesel shops or in military motor pools, mechanized divisions/units, or flightline maintenance operations.


As Maintenance Manager, you will be responsible and accountable for all the maintenance activities in your assigned Division. These are front-line leadership role positions in which you will supervise, schedule, direct and motivate 10-15 Maintenance personnel on a rotating crew for production. Primarily you will be responsible for applying maintenance leadership and principles, troubleshooting and problem-solving techniques to evaluate and make decisions that resolve operational, production, or maintenance conditions and improve reliability.


Key duties include:

  • Administer the safety program to ensure a safe work environment, including proper housekeeping.
  • Directly supervise union employees and work closely with vendors and contactors.
  • Interpret specifications, blueprints, and job orders to workers and assign duties accordingly.
  • Schedule, coordinate, organize, and direct activities of crews, including completing reports, safety briefs, etc.
  • Assist workers in diagnosing machinery/equipment malfunction; maintain inventory for efficient operations.
  • Coordinate production or repairs and maintenance with a team of mechanical/electrical staff.
  • Use technical knowledge, equipment documentation, safety procedures, and schedules for production or to follow, improve, and develop preventative and routine maintenance programs.
  • Develop/implement cost savings, methods, & procedures to eliminate problems & improve product quality.


Requirements:

Candidates must have a H.S. diploma/GED and a minimum of 2 years of direct supervisory experience leading work crews in a manufacturing, industrial, or military environment; and outstanding leadership.
