The Marketing Specialist is responsible for internal and external communication of the School. Responsibilities include planning, initiating, and managing communications including design, editing and content messaging of all print, website, digital and social media, acting as the official spokesperson for all media relations.

Essential Functions

  • Assist with creation and execution of a comprehensive strategic communications and marketing plan.
  • Manages the content creation and execution of all digital and social media advertising efforts in addition to professional video production.
  • Manages relationship and contract negotiations with Diocesan Publications and edits the weekly Parish bulletin, with a focus on content and messaging.
  • Develops, designs, and secures material for Parish Pastor as needed including promotional items, parishioner and parent mailers, invitations, banners, post cards and flyers.
  • Coordinates and supervises photography for important school events for posting on social media, website and or printed publications.
  • Coordinates publication schedules with vendors to produce collateral pieces.
  • Develops and enforces School Style Guide to ensure consistent branding and messaging.
  • Manages all external communication consultants and works with external media sources to strategically promote the school.
  • Serves as the primary point of contact for media communications for the school.
  • Performs other Communications and Marketing duties as needed.


Position Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, or related fields.
  • Minimum of five years experience with responsibilities in public relations, journalism, marketing, business, or public administration or in a closely related area
  • Professional writing and editing skills, including the flexibility to write in different styles for various audiences.
  • Experience managing social media accounts.
  • Skilled in marketing, strategic planning, program development, media relations, and crisis communications.
  • Attention to detail, commitment to accuracy and ability to produce high-quality work in print and online.
  • Demonstrate project management skills with the ability to self-direct and prioritize among competing goals to meet deadlines.
