Iowa Health and Wellness Advocate


Job Details

Health and Wellness Advocate will work with team to assist store-level Maverik team members with their needs outside of the workplace surrounding social determinants of health. This will include responding to employee requests and connecting employees to the appropriate resources. Additionally, the Health and Wellness Advocate will curate and maintain relationships with federal, state, city, and community resources.

Specifically, the Health and Wellness Advocate's responsibilities will include:

  • Promotion (marketing) and education of program and resources Maverik stores and other agencies.
  • Relationship management with community and government organizations.
  • Determining individuals' eligibility for programs and resources.
  • Assess employees' needs and develop personalized plans to address those needs.
  • Connect employees with relevant community resources and support services, such as housing assistance programs, food banks, healthcare providers, childcare services, etc.
  • Assist in enrollment and eligibility verification for community and government programs.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation of client interactions, progress, and follow-ups.
  • Managing, organizing, and expanding available resources to assist employee base in Iowa.
  • Analyzing program data and outcomes.
  • Organizing success stories and testimonials to establish reputation and improve engagement.
  • Systematic rollout of the program into more markets in their region.
  • Other responsibilities as needed and assigned.


Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • Minimum of one year of experience in related field.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and organization skills.
  • Knowledge of community and government resources in Iowa related to health, housing, food support, etc.
  • Ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds and populations.
  • Ability to maintain absolute confidentiality and uphold ethical standards.
  • Excellent computer skills including experience with Microsoft 365 Office.

  • Effectively and efficiently track data related to program evaluation.
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills, with the capacity to address client needs and navigate complex situations.
  • Willingness to collaborate with the team to provide comprehensive support to clients.
  • Perform with attention to detail and follow through.


Will be required to work 3 days a week in the Iowa office.
