Who We Are

Golden Queen Mining Co., LLC (the "Company") operates a gold and silver, open pit, heap leach operation on its Soledad Mountain property, located just outside the town of Mojave in Kern County in southern California. The Project uses conventional open pit mining methods and the cyanide heap leach and Merrill-Crowe processes to recover gold and silver from crushed, agglomerated ore.

This is a safety sensitive position.

As the Grade Control Technician, you report to the Ore Control Supervisor.

What You Do

  • Sample blast-holes.
  • Complete applicable sampling requirements.
  • Develop and maintain a database/model with blast hole sample information, which is used to compare with main block-model.
  • Help maintain a database of exploration and infill drill-hole information and have direct input into the grade/ounce reconciliation calculations and models.
  • Complete geological mapping assignments, both in the open pit environment and in the field.
  • Enter data and prepare work on geologic sections and level plans with a software package such as Surpac and/or Minesight in addition to using programs associated with GIS and ACAD.
  • Visit mining faces often to see if the loading equipment are within ore/waste polygons that are set out by the Company's survey crew.
  • Interface with the mine-planning engineer to develop ore-polygons during a "release" of blast-hole data and to discuss ore grades past and future.
  • Assist the Geology department with the management of all drilling programs and provide understanding of the orebody.
  • Work closely with the laboratory department to ensure that a proper QA/QC protocol (as set by mine management) is rigorously adhered to.
  • Coordinate input and information flow between Geology, Engineering, and the Mining departments.
  • Be familiar with and comply with the Company's health, safety, and environmental policies.
  • Other duties as assigned.
