Procurement Specialist

Job Summary: Our company seeks a skilled and experienced procurement specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will manage all procurement activities related to the warehousing and fulfillment operations. This includes sourcing, negotiating contracts, managing supplier relationships, and ensuring the timely delivery of goods and services to support our operational needs.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement procurement strategies to support the warehousing and fulfillment operations.
  • Identify and evaluate potential suppliers, negotiate contracts, and establish relationships to ensure competitive pricing and quality products/services.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand their procurement needs and requirements.
  • Manage the procurement process from requisition to purchase order issuance and receipt of goods/services.
  • Monitor supplier performance, address any issues or concerns, and implement corrective actions as needed.
  • Conduct regular supplier assessments and performance reviews to drive continuous improvement.
  • Analyze market trends, supplier capabilities, and industry best practices to optimize procurement processes and identify cost-saving opportunities.
  • Create a detailed filing system for all procurement activities.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
  • Prepare and present reports, metrics, and analysis related to procurement activities.

Required Skills/Abilities:
  • Strong knowledge of procurement principles, practices, and techniques.
  • Proven track record of negotiating contracts and managing supplier relationships.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and procurement software/systems.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or related field.
  • Three years of experience in procurement, preferably within the warehousing and fulfillment industry.

Physical Requirements:
  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
