Job Description

Under direction of Supervisor and/or General Maintenance Lead, performs general maintenance and repair work. Assists in all types of general maintenance work, including but not limited to, dismantling; installing; maintaining; and repairing.

Compensation:

$20.45/hour (non-exempt)

This is a Union position with 2 openings.

Reporting Relationship:

Reports to: General Maintenance Lead and Facilities Manager

Supervises: n/a

Responsibilities

Essential Duties

  1. Works in all phases of the maintenance and repair trades, including but not limited to, carpentry; electrical; plumbing; and painting.
  2. Erects scaffolding and builds and places forms for concrete.
  3. Assists in mixing, pouring, and finishing of concrete.
  4. Prepares wood, metal, and other surfaces and applies paint, varnish, or other liquid material with a brush, roller, or spray gun.
  5. Assists in making routine carpentry repairs to rotted steps, footings, cabinets, etc.
  6. Sharpens saws and maintains other tools as necessary.
  7. Works from written instructions.
  8. Performs work with due regard to safety of self and fellow employees, and with proper care and protection of Company property.
  9. Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Work Cards/Certifications:

  • Valid Hawaii Driver's License and successful review of Motor Vehicle Record

Physical Requirements:

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, talk, and hear.
  • The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
  • The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distant vision, and color vision.
