Major Areas of Focus

The Corporate Controller (Controller) is responsible for budget management, financial analysis, forecasting, and financial reporting. The Controller works closely with the Director of Operations role to establish annual and live budgets, monitor financial performance, and drive results.

  • Accountable for the financial planning and monitoring of assigned divisions of the company
  • Is a finance expert
  • Works closely with Executive Management
  • Reports to the Director of Home Office
Essential duties and responsibilities. Other duties may also be assigned.

  • Assists with building annual and Live budgets for assigned operating units (Service Centers and any associated Satellites)
  • Coordinates with other finance team members such as AR, AP Clerks, and the Home Office Manager to ensure all entries have been booked so timely posting can occur
  • Participate in the development of and support the company's strategic plans
  • Monitor the financial performance of assigned operating units
  • Compile and analyze financial reporting packages for assigned operating units
  • Develop and manage financial controls in accordance with the company's procedures
  • Monitors, and implements current company, accounting policies, and procedures
  • Protects assets by establishing, monitoring, and implementing internal controls
  • Provides status of financial condition by collecting, interpreting, and reporting financial data
  • Communicate financial metrics to senior management with structured management reports
  • Creates special reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends
  • Complies with federal, state, and local legal requirements
  • Protects operations by keeping financial information and plans confidential
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed
  • Supports AR Clerk, AP Clerk, Home Office Manager, and Banking & Treasury Manager

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Accounting, Finance or related discipline
  • Accounting designation (CMA, CGA or CA), or an equivalent combination of related experience and education
  • Minimum 7-years accounting experience in a senior accounting or financial management role with at least 5-years of experience in human resources
  • Must be able to work with cloud-based technology, including experience with Sage Intacct or similar
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Impeccable analytical and organizational skills
  • Self-motivated and self-directed
  • Ability to work closely with a senior management team
  • Willing to travel via air and land to company-owned branch facilities
  • Able to pass an illicit drug screen and criminal background check

Language Skills

While performing duties, employees are regularly required to use written and oral communication skills; may read and interpret data, information, and documents; observe and respond to people and situations; learn and apply new information or skills; work under deadlines; and interact with others encountered in the course of work. Proficiency in English is required, and the ability to speak fluent Spanish is highly beneficial.
Physical Demands

The employee frequently is required to stand, walk and sit. The employee is occasionally required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, or crouch. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 60 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Long working hours are required for an emergency, urgent response, or winter weather storm management operations.
Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to shops and facilities that have moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and outside weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
Travel & Development

Moderate travel will be required for finance projects that occur in cooperation with various Directors of Operations at our Service Centers.
Security

The employee may not use illicit drugs during their employment with ECF. ECF operates in several high-security environments which require individuals who are able to pass security background checks. The employee is required to pass security background checks that meet our underwriting standards. The employee is required to have a valid driver's license and driving record that meets our underwriting standards. We reserve the right to reject an applicant or terminate an employee whose criminal or driving record fails to meet our underwriting criteria.
