Payroll Processor


Job Details

The Payroll Processor is responsible for processing the company's payroll with accuracy, timeliness, attention to detail, and an understanding of payroll regulations to ensure compliance with federal and state laws. The payroll specialist also maintains all employee records and performs other human resources and payroll department administrative duties.


Responsibilities

  • Maintain and review payroll processing systems to ensure timely and accurate processing of payroll transactions.
  • Identify and recommend updates to payroll processing software, systems, and procedures.
  • Ensure accurate and timely processing of payroll.
  • Prepare and maintain accurate records and reports of payroll transactions.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll, wage and hour laws, and best practices.
  • Assist in audits by providing records and documentation.
  • Communicate with management and team members regarding payroll questions.
  • Resolve payroll discrepancies by collecting and analyzing data.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Maintain team member records.
  • Assist in HR administration of benefits.
  • Assist in team member requests regarding HR issues, rules, and regulations.
  • Processing documentation and preparing reports related to personnel activities (staffing, recruitment, training, grievances, etc.).

  • Proven experience as a payroll clerk or payroll specialist.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficient with Google Suite.
  • Proficient with payroll software.
  • Knowledgeable in on-demand and early access pay options
  • A high degree of confidentiality.
  • Knowledge of federal and state wage and labor laws
  • Ability to interpret policies and procedures.
  • Strong supervisory and leadership skills.
  • Understanding of payroll and labor laws.


QUALIFICATIONS

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Knowledge of payroll software including ADP, PayChex, iSolved, Paycom, Paylocity, or equivalent.
  • 2+ years experience in payroll processing for a minimum of 100 employees.
  • Bilingual preferred
  • Restaurant experience is a plus, but not required.


Work Environment:

  • In-person office in La Porte, TX
  • Monday-Friday, 8-4
  • Travel occasionally to restaurant locations, especially during opening timeframes
  • Not a Remote Position
