Summary:

Reporting to the Technical Support Manager, the Technical Support Specialist provides exceptional customer service and maintains, analyzes, troubleshoots, and repairs end-user computer systems, hardware, telephones, printers, scanners, and other technology and computing peripherals. The Technical Support Specialist responds to service alerts issued through the work ticket software, and acts as the point of contact between Information Technology and end-users, maintaining accurate records of support requests and keeping customers informed of progress toward resolution. The Technical Support Specialist applicant should have strong knowledge in Workstation/PC Hardware, Windows and Linsux Operating systems, Mobile Operating system, and network password management. The Technical Support Specialist must also have excellent documentation and communication skills in resolving employee issues.

Experience/Education Requirements:

  • Associates' Degree in related field or equivalent work experience of at least 2 years in this or related field.

License or Certification Requirements:

  • CmpTIA A+ preferred


Responsibilities:
  • Assist with installation of network hardware and issue resolutions as needed.
  • Assists with basic network connectivity, diagnoses and repair.
  • Assists with server/hardware/software administration.
  • Follows guidelines and requirements set forth in the Help Desk Operations manual and provides feedback for the refinement of the manual.
  • Incorporate defined customer service measures during customer engagements.
  • Install, move, replace, and maintain desktop work stations, printers, phones, scanners, fax machines, and other peripheral devices.
  • Install, troubleshoot, diagnose and correct operating systems, hardware, and application issues encountered by end-users.
  • Documents measures incorporated in the resolution and/or installation process.
  • Is available for 'On Call' as scheduled.
  • Maintain skill levels necessary to perform essential responsibilities and acquire skills that may be needed to support new technology as it is deployed within the organization.
  • Makes recommendations for improving the working environment that would improve productivity, efficiencies, and/or operations within the organization.
  • Procures quotations and completes purchase orders for replacement parts as needed.
