Large, well-established architectural woodworking company located in Avon, CT is seeking an experienced AutoCAD Drafter. Our drafting engineers are responsible for creating shop drawings from architectural plans and specifications, making revisions as required by architectural changes or site conditions, and managing the status of project scope. The ideal candidate will have a thorough understanding of millwork materials, commercial construction methods and industry standards.
Responsibilities:
- Draft assigned millwork scope, including metal, glass, stone and millwork materials
- Develop custom elements for millwork applications
- Assist in the application of field dimensions, redlines, and change orders to create post-production documentation
- Create shop drawings and hardware cut sheet submittals
- Process architect approvals/resubmittals of shop drawings & buyout items
- Assist with the review of architectural details for constructability, to determine where to apply company standards
- Perform other duties as required by management
Skills & Qualifications:
- Proficient in 2D AutoCAD
- Knowledge in 3D CAD/CAM, Cabinet Vision, Microvellum & imos ix a plus
- Solid understanding of woodworking details and production
- Meticulous work habits
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to read blueprints and shop drawings
- Familiarity with Lean principles
- Intermediate level proficiency with MS Office
Education and Experience:
- High School Diploma; Bachelor s degree in Manufacturing Engineering or related preferred
- 3+ years engineering experience required
- Experience in the architectural millwork industry preferred
- Experience using software such as Bluebeam, SAP & Innergy preferred
