The Role:

We are looking for a Logistics Manager in Jacksonville, Florida. The Logistics Manager will orchestrate multi-leg shipments, negotiate rates, and supervise loading operations to ensure safe and cost-effective transportation. This role collaborates with carriers, dispatchers, and third-party providers to manage schedules, contracts, and compliance requirements. Through detailed reporting and strategic planning, they optimize logistics processes, driving efficiency and reliability in supply chain operations.

What You'll Do:

  • Coordinate multi-leg shipments to ensure safe, timely, and cost-effective delivery in line with project requirements.
  • Liaise with carriers and third-party providers to facilitate inspection and ensure safe loading and unloading of critical shipments.
  • Integrate safety requirements into all logistics activities to uphold project standards and compliance.
  • Oversee quality assurance sampling vendors to maintain the integrity of shipped goods.
  • Supervise onsite loading and offloading operations to ensure safe handling of goods and compliance with loading protocols.
  • Implement and enforce proper loading and securing procedures to prevent damage to shipments during transportation.
  • Assist in sourcing and procuring chartering services, including vetting logistics service providers and preparing necessary documentation.
  • Support the development of logistics budgets, cost estimates, and acquisition plans to ensure efficient resource allocation.
  • Assist in the preparation of bid tabs, commitment authorizations, and contract documents for logistics service providers.
  • Negotiate and manage contracts with trucking companies to establish service level agreements, pricing terms, and performance metrics.
  • Review and update contract terms and conditions as necessary to reflect changes in business needs or market conditions.
  • Collaborate with shippers, carriers, and dispatchers to manage scheduled drop-off and collection.
  • Ensure timely and efficient movement of trucks, boats, and train orders.
  • Develop and optimize transportation schedules and routes to maximize efficiency and minimize transit times for shipments.
  • Collaborate with third-party dispatchers to coordinate transportation activities and ensure alignment with project timelines and requirements.
  • Review logistics service provider documents for accuracy and compliance with project requirements and company policies.
  • Ensure timely entry of shipment tracking data to provide visibility into shipment status and maintain critical data tracking.
  • Prepare logistics reports and performance metrics as required to meet project information requirements.
  • Monitor market trends and industry benchmarks to identify opportunities for cost savings and negotiate competitive pricing agreements with trucking companies.
  • Coordinate bunkering operations for vessels, including arranging fuel supplies from shore facilities and overseeing the refueling process.
  • Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and safety protocols during bunkering operations to minimize risks and prevent pollution incidents.
  • Manage the processing of invoices from logistics service providers, ensuring accuracy and timely payment for services rendered.
  • Verify invoice details against contractual agreements and shipping documents, resolving discrepancies and addressing billing issues as needed.

Qualifications:
  • High school diploma, or GED required.
  • Some college courses or equivalent continued education preferred.
  • Four (4) to Six (6) years of logistics experience required.
  • Previous experience in LNG, petroleum, chemical, or another similar industry preferred.
  • Knowledge of importing and exporting formalities and processes, domestic and international trade and delivery terms, industry packing, marking, and shipping requirements, and marine cargo chartering is preferred.
  • Computer skills with experience in Excel required.
