POSITION SUMMARY

Serve as an unpaid volunteer assistant coach of the Men's and Women's Tennis program, operating under competitive NCAA Division III bylaws. The Volunteer coach will assist the head coach with implementing and directing phases of training.

The volunteer coach works under the direction of paid staff when working with student-athletes. Every volunteer will complete acriminal background check prior to them volunteering. The volunteer coach has the flexibility to determine their availability and should communicate their schedule with the head coach.

Essential Functions Statement(s)

  • Assist head coach in various, duties as directed.
  • Provide guidance and assistance to student-athletes as required.
  • Assist with practice sessions and game competitions, ensuring all appropriate safety guidelines and standards are maintained.
  • Understand and comply with NCAA Division III, conference and University rules and regulations.

Requirements

Education: High School Diploma or equivalent (GED) required.

Experience: Prior experience playing or coaching tennis is desired.

Computer Skills: None.

Certificates Licenses: A valid US driver's license is required.

Other Requirements:

  • Must be able to work closely with the head tennis coach, student-athletes and DePauw University community.
  • Good communication skills
  • Sensitivity to individuals of diverse cultural backgrounds and a commitment to a diverse community.
