Position Overview: The Maintenance Supervisor will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of maintenance operations within our facilities. This includes managing a team of maintenance technicians, coordinating maintenance schedules, ensuring equipment reliability, and implementing preventative maintenance programs. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in maintenance management, exceptional leadership skills, and a commitment to maintaining a safe and efficient work environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and lead a team of maintenance technicians, providing guidance, support, and training as needed.
- Develop and implement maintenance procedures and protocols to ensure the effective operation of equipment and facilities.
- Schedule and prioritize maintenance tasks to minimize downtime and maximize productivity.
- Conduct regular inspections of equipment and facilities to identify and address maintenance issues in a timely manner.
- Coordinate with other departments to schedule maintenance activities and minimize disruptions to operations.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including work orders, equipment maintenance history, and inventory levels.
- Evaluate equipment performance and make recommendations for upgrades or replacements as needed.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies, including the proper use of personal protective equipment and adherence to lockout/tagout procedures.
- Participate in the hiring, training, and performance evaluation of maintenance staff.
- Collaborate with engineering and production teams to support continuous improvement initiatives and optimize equipment performance.
- Manage departmental budget and expenses, seeking cost-effective solutions for maintenance needs.
- Serve as a liaison between maintenance staff and management, communicating priorities, issues, and recommendations effectively.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; bachelor s degree in engineering or related field preferred.
- Proven experience in maintenance management or a similar supervisory role, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
- Strong technical knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
- Demonstrated leadership abilities, with the ability to motivate and develop a team.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with employees at all levels of the organization.
- Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving skills and the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
- Familiarity with maintenance management software and computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS).
- Knowledge of safety regulations and best practices for maintenance operations.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, or overtime as needed to support maintenance activities.
