PRODUCTION MANAGER


The job:

Frontwave Arena is seeking a Production Manager for our 7,500 capacity indoor entertainment and sports arena responsible for overseeing the operational execution of sporting events, concerts, and other events.

What you will do:

Responsible for advancing, coordinating and overall management, communication, and production of assigned Frontwave Arena sporting and live entertainment events.

Manage the production department in a manner that reflects the highest standards of respect, professionalism, and customer service.

Provide an advanced level of expertise in all aspects of technical production including but not limited to lighting, audio, video, rigging, and stage special effects.

Develop event production budgets and/or event estimates for business development and booking.

Work directly with live entertainment and other productions and tours to advance all technical, A/V production, rigging, and facility logistics for all shows at Frontwave Arena.

Serve as the primary production/technical liaison between clients and the venue on event day as it relates to the event production, rules and regulations, standard operating procedures, and any other required communications that occur to ensure a successful operation.

Ensure compliance with expense guidelines, company policy, league and artist protocols, and governing codes, and strive to maximize revenue and minimize expenses.

Establish and maintain relationships with production vendors and service providers.

Negotiate for and procure production equipment and services from rental companies.

Work with the operations staff to oversee the preventive maintenance programs and needs for production and stage equipment.

Develop CAD drawings for ticketed events in conjunction with the Box Office and Booking teams.

Prepare and distribute detailed production notes for each assigned event and review in weekly production meetings with supporting departments (including but not limited to AV, Operations, Event Services, and Food & Beverage).

Supervise the load-in and load out of equipment, including sports, band, tour, and rental gear.

Ensure all in-house policies are enforced regarding staging, safety and show protocol.

Work irregular schedule as required to oversee assigned events.

Rotate with other event personnel to function as Manager-On-Duty (MOD) for events.

Other duties as assigned by department leadership.


Production Supervision and Management

Supervise the stagehands and back-of-house crews needed to operate events plus assist with front-of-house oversight as needed.

Manage subordinates including Production Coordinators, Runners, Wardrobe, and Backstage staff. Responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of these individuals.

Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with Frontwave Arena s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training Operations employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance and contributing to reward discussions; disciplining employees in conjunction with Human Resources; addressing complaints and resolving problems.


Qualifications:

Five or more years of relevant experience in concert/sports/theater settings and arena production.

Excellent interpersonal skills, with an ability to interact effectively and professionally, diplomatically, and maturely with internal and external clients and peers at all levels within an organization and throughout the community, both oral and written.

Ability to self-direct/manage a high number of competing projects simultaneously, with impeccable attention to detail and ability to adhere to established and non-flexible deadlines for project completion.

Highly organized with excellent project coordination, project management skills, and attention to detail to meet tight deadlines and work effectively in a high-pressure environment.

Experience working with local crews; knowledge of all aspects of production technology.

Working knowledge of applicable OSHA, state and other work environment and safety regulations.

Demonstrates a talent for amicable problem solving and conflict resolution.

Highly responsive to emergencies in a fast paced, time sensitive environment with demonstrated confidence, decision-making, and multi-tasking abilities.

Excellent leadership skills with the ability to lead, give clear, concise direction and provide constructive feedback within a multi-ethnic/multi-cultural environment.

Knowledge of industry regulations, safety standards, and best practices for event management and venue operations.

Proficiency in Computer Aided Design and Microsoft Office suite.

Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required by the demands of the event schedule.

Must be able to walk/stand/sit for long periods of time.

Ability to be flexible and adjust to situations as they occur.


Salary Range: Base compensation ranging from $75,000 to $85,000.
