The Assembly Mechanic III (Repair) is responsible for producing prototypes and the organizations most complex components. They serve as the Subject Matter Expert and primary personnel to establish manufacturing process post First Article or Prototype. Train other assembly mechanics. Provide input into business decisions operational or sourcing. Drive continuous improvement activity within the work center and identify new equipment to improve operational efficiency. Support development of work center operating standards in alignment to company and regulatory requirements.

Candidate skills & requirements
Key Duties and Responsibilities:

Sr. Assembly Mechanic Responsibilities:
Partners with engineering, ME, planning to develop and execute part prototype design, and test plans
Setup and maintain test fixtures in alignment to test plan requirements
Execute test plans and troubleshoot setup to achieve successful execution
Responsible for the production of prototype and first article for the businesses most complex components
Mastery of all shop equipment drill motors, pneumatic tools, band saws, drill presses, various tool grinders, abrasive saws
Ability to use precision metrology instruments including micrometers, dial indicators, optical comparators, etc.
Establish work center standard operating procedures
Support make/buy decision in partnership with operations manager and production planning
Lead continuous improvement activity in the area to reduce scrap rate and increase operational efficiency
Other duties as assigned.
Ability to consume electrical and structural part drawings to produce components as designed
Train and mentor other entry to mid-level assembly mechanic shop personnel
Proficient with Syteline or equivalent ERP system
Ensure completion of associated paperwork and job orders to support component shipment

Repair Station Responsibilities:
Maintain repair station operator status and qualification to perform work under NAT Repair Station Authorization from regulatory agencies
Partner with Engineering, QA to repair and restore functionality of components coming through the repair station
Perform and certify repair work on faulty componentry in accordance with repair instruction
Test and troubleshoot to ensure part repair were done in accordance with engineering requirements

Knowledge/Experience:
Must be at least 18 years of age.
Shall possess, at a minimum, a High School diploma or GED
5+ years experience in the consuming electrical and structural aerospaceequivalent part drawings
5+ years interpreting, authoring and executing assembly and component test requirements
High level of mechanical and electrical aptitude and knowledge of aerospace or other equivalent industry

Able to perform mathematic calculations, varying in complexity.
Work from solid models, technical drawings, engineering sketches, and other such documentation to produce a variety of prototype and production parts
Analyze written specifications, drawings, rough sketches, and verbal instructions to determine operation sequences
