Job Details

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Prepares financial statements to summarize and forecast the company s financial status.
  • Produces and manages balance sheets and analyzes future earnings and expenses.
  • Assists with management of accounting, auditing, and budgeting within the organization.
  • Works to reconcile accounting inaccuracies or imbalances.
  • Ensures compliance with and prepares reports according to applicable government regulations and current accounting standards.
  • Uses accounting software to maintain records and prepare reports.
  • Coordinates with and prepares reports for Controller/Senior Director of Finance, CFO, and upper management.
  • Contributes to team efforts by accomplishing related tasks as needed.
  • Maintaining the trial balance for the organization, including review, and posting of monthly journal entries, oversee month end closing and respective account analysis. Prepare complex entries as needed.
  • Under the direction of the controller, prepares reports required by regulatory agencies.


Supervisory Responsibilities

  • Supervise senior and/or staff accountant personnel as needed and directed by the controller. When required will ensure that others in the department are cross-trained to ensure adequate backup and support are maintained in the department.

Basic or Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor s degree in accounting, CPA or equivalent experience required.
  • 2 - 5 years of experience as a Senior Accountant or Assistant is required, preferably in a healthcare environment.
  • Expert knowledge of accounting and financial principles, regulations, and best practices
  • Experience with public accounting and auditing preferred.
  • Proficiency and demonstrated practical experience with accounting, third party billing, and payroll systems.
  • Knowledge of and practical experience with accounting for restricted, federal, and state grants and contracts.
  • Highly motivated accounting professional who is detail-oriented with exceptional analytical, creative, supervisory, and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office & Excel
