The Opportunity
Description
We're looking for a Scientist - Bench Molecular Bio, working in Pharmaceuticals and Medical Products industry in Cumberland, Maryland, United States.

  • Performing gene cloning, RNA extraction, qRT-PCR, DNA gel electrophoresis and purification, western-blot analysis, immunohistochemistry, etc.
  • DNA transfection, transformation and infection of (viral) gene vectors;
  • Gene (DNA) sequencing and analysis
  • Maintaining mammalian cell culture;
  • Performing bacterial cell culture;
  • Maintaining lab, such as helping with autoclave, lab organization, lab reports, etc.;
  • Supporting grant/fund application writing and review.

Experience Required for Your Success
  • Experience in gene therapy will be preferred.
  • Molecular biology including gene cloning, DNA fragment purification, ligation, gene vector construct and gene sequencing.
  • Biochemistry and immunology including immunohistochemistry (antibody) staining of cells and tissues, ELISA, and immunofluorescence assays;
  • Aseptic cell biology techniques, such as maintenance of human and animal cell lines, transfection/infection, cell cryopreservation;
  • Bacterial cell transformation, scale up cultivation and plasmid miniprep or/and maxiprep purification of DNA;
  • RNA extraction, restriction enzyme digestion, DNA gel electrophoresis and qRT-PCR
  • Experience with BCA protein quantification, Western blot analysis and immunohistochemistry (IHC) staining;
  • Analysis of data by using basic statistical programs (such as student t-test, Anova test, etc.).
