Key Responsibilities: Technology is at the heart of our entire operation at United. Our customers and our employees rely on technology every single day. As a Sr. Manager in our IT Disaster Recovery Team, you ll have the critical role of ensuring that our disaster recovery infrastructure is kept synchronized with our production data centers (including applications, databases, network resources, hardware, and operating systems), and functioning/replicating properly at all times. You will work with IT application, engineering, and operations teams to streamline and automate processes, as well as develop, implement, and test recovery procedures for United s technology environments. The work that you will do ensures the integrity of United s digital assets in the event of a disruption.Consult with application design and engineering teams to define recovery strategies that are consistent with enterprise architectures, and meet Recovery Time Objectives (RTO) and Recovery Point Objectives (RPO) for critical applications that are core to United s business operationsManage the creation and upkeep of disaster recovery plans for all infrastructure components and services, and ensure ongoing alignment of plans with major technology and business changesLead efforts to ensure that all changes to the production IT environments and from all programs that impact or expand our recovery footprint are properly identified, assessed, and that all required design, build-out, and replication is implemented for disaster recoveryLead scheduled DR infrastructure recovery testing by coordinating across IT engineering and operations teamsDefine and drive the implementation of key automation to support United s DR objectives, and lead investigation into new replication tools/technologies,Develop and deploy training, documentation and communication of DR policies and procedures to the organizationUnited values diverse experiences, perspectives, and we encourage everyone who meets the minimum qualifications to apply. QualificationsWhat s needed to succeed (Minimum Qualifications): Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Information Systems, or other equivalent work experience/education/training7+ years total work experience with at least 2 years of experience with Disaster Recovery tools, software and methodology5+ years of experience in technical infrastructure (servers, storage, network, database, middleware) requirements analysis, design, and configuration1+ year leading and managing a teamDemonstrated experience in solution architecture design, engineering, and implementation for large-scale, complex infrastructure programsStrong knowledge of the one or more of the following: Windows, Linux, Active Directory, VMWare, NetApp, AWS, TIBCO, LAN/WAN Equipment, replication technologies (Zerto, Doubletake, etc.), data center infrastructureStrong communication and presentation skills (written and oral)Ability to solve complex problemsExperience working both independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environmentMust be legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer without sponsorshipWhat will help you propel from the pack (Preferred Qualifications):2 or more years of experience with replication technologies (Zerto, Azure, AWS, Site Recovery Manager, Carbonite/Doubletake)3 or more years of demonstrated ability with Virtualization and Hyper Converged Infrastructure3 or more years of networking experience1 or more years in disaster recovery testingBCI, ISO 22301 Lead Implementer, CBCP / CBCI Certification, or certification in one or more: networking, server, open systems, virtualization, security, ITILAdvanced/expert-level knowledge in one or more of the following: data center infrastructure, disaster recovery, replication technologies, network architectureFamiliarity with usage of, and generating reports from ServiceNowExperience in disaster recovery configuration, implementation, or testingUnited Airlines is an equal opportunity employer.
